Despite Nigeria’s challenges, many citizens are dedicated to fostering positive change. At EiE Nigeria, we believe that every individual has the power to shape governance outcomes. In 2020, as part of our 10th anniversary celebration, we launched the #OnePerson campaign to highlight the impact one person can have in their community. From the launch of our book – Footprints: Past.Present.Future, honouring emerging change agents to the monthly spotlight, this initiative recognizes those making significant contributions in Nigerian communities, inspiring civic responsibility and proactive participation.

Funke Adeoye is a distinguished lawyer, human rights defender, and social entrepreneur. She is the founder and Executive Director of Hope Behind Bars Africa, an organisation dedicated to promoting human rights and criminal justice reforms through legal aid, research, evidence-based advocacy, and technology. Funke’s commitment to justice stems from personal experiences.
